Security Shear bolts are manufactured in zinc, stainless steel or galvanised mild steel but can also be made to customer specifications.

Security Shear Bolts can be manufactured as a dome head shear bolt or countersunk head shear bolt.  The security feature is the hexagonal shaped section on top of the bolt, this is fully tightened with a standard spanner or socket until the pressure applied surpasses the maximum torque limit resulting in the hexagonal part of the shear bolt to snap off (break off), leaving a plain tamper resistant head.

Due to the security drive design of the security Shear Bolt it is suitable for higher torque applications and is a ‘1 way’ permanent fixings making it the ideal security fastener for applications where maintenance is not required.
