Security Shear screws are manufactured in A2 stainless steel but can also be made to customer specifications.

Security Shear screws are manufactured as a dome security fasteners.  The security feature is the hexagonal shaped section on top of the bolt, this is fully tightened with a standard spanner or cross recess driver until the pressure applied surpasses the maximum torque limit resulting in the hexagonal part of the shear screw to snap off (break off), leaving a plain tamper resistant head.

Due to the security drive design of the security Shear Screw it is suitable for higher torque applications and is a ‘1 way’ permanent fixings making it the ideal security fastener for applications where maintenance is not required.
